Ripping Pioneer Laser Discs ?

Postby k j singer » Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:03 pm

Hello Everyone: ROBBIE in Atlanta Here !
Does anyone know how to rip the Old 18 inch Pioneer laser discs or VCD Discs to MP3+Gs
so I can use them with PCDJ or Does someone already have the complete Pioneer Library Ripped into MP3+Gs ?

I have had the pleasure of finding the complete Pioneer Laser Disc Collection for Karaoke like I used back in the day(late eighties/early nineties) From another show host that used to visit my shows before branching out on his own !

I would love to be able to use these for my shows because these days with the economy I need all the help I can get at my shows !

Any Help Is Always Appreciated ! Thank You For Your Time And Consideration !

Ahh yes - the 12-inch Pioneer LaserKaraoke discs, I still use those.... :notworthy: I've always liked that format, the video that plays with the song arrangement is quite entertaining, so there's more to the song than just words displaying on the screen and changing color, when the CD+G format came out shortly afterward, it just seemed to me like there was "something missing".

Unfortunately, those are not supported in KJ, the only options that I know of are to patch the LD player into a DVD recorder and make DVD copies of them, you can then use one of the DVD ripping programs mentioned in the VJ forum to rip them to VOB or MPEG files that will play in VJ, or if you have a video capture device and software on your computer, you can patch the LD player into that and make the VOB or MPEG files on-the-fly.
