Club Gig Pay

Postby desmondsteele » Sat May 21, 2005 11:31 am

I just recently started hosting my own happy hour and party in downtown Nashville. The club just recently opened, and it is going through the stage of developing it's own identity.

This just so happens to be my first regular club gig. I am curious what those of you who have experience in this area would recommend for compensation. I don't have the pressure others might have with regards to income because I have a pretty good day job. But the owner and I are cool, and one day soon I'll have to discuss with him my compensation, something fair to both of us. I know what I charge for private parties, but do you have different rates for club gigs, and what are yours if you don't mind me asking?

I am the DJ at Wild Bills in Atlanta. Work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Salary weekly with taxes taken out, insurance for the entire family not just me, comp tab and my own parking spot with my name on it. :D

it all depends on the club size and income! My normal wedding rate is $850 where club rate is $150-200 depending on the night. Gigs... bring all the gear. Clubs... bring in my PC only!

What? Another thing to envy! First a nice licence plate, now a parking lot. What does it say? "Dwight parking only"? :D

Bring a 9/16"-wrench - that'll do the job. Or else run over it, you vicious Psycho! Poor Dwight! :)
