Red Mobile/DEX Library & Cases/Playlists

If you look at the song browser in RED Mobile / DEX notice how it mimics windows explorer. No need to build a “record case” in red mobile. You should have your music sorted by windows folders. Then simply browse them in Red Mobile / DEX. Here is a hint. You can click “add favorite” then choose your music folder(s) and they will then stay available in the folder browser (left column).

Now if you wish to build a playlist or Case (to use auto play for example): Browse to a music folder then drag the songs from the middle window to the desired case folder in the left hand folder view window. The default auto play folder is the waitlist case but you can create a new case and right click on it and select “set auto play folder. Then when you engage the auto play Red Mobile / DEX will pull it’s next song from that case or play list.

After you have added songs to a case you can then click sort->shuffle if you wish to randomize that play list for auto play.

Now a word on cases:

Theoretically the number of cases allowed before performance degradation is dependent on the machine specs. With this in mind you should be sorting the majority of your library by windows folders. This is why the browser mimics windows explorer. You should use cases as temporary play lists for a particular gig or for common play lists like dinner music. Again the majority of your music should be sorted by windows folders which you then can add as a favorite folder in Red Mobile / DEX.
